Parent testimonial

Having both been graduates of St. John the Baptist, it was important that the values we learned growing up were passed on to our children.

We feel very fortunate to have teachers and support staff at St. John the Baptist who are excellent role models, dedicated to providing our twin daughters with a high-quality Catholic education. Our teachers truly have a passion for what they do, and it shows each and every day. Small class sizes allow our twins to receive individualized attention, and still be exposed to instruction beyond core classes (i.e., Spanish, music, art and technology).

Because of a Catholic education, our daughters are growing to be faith-filled, confident, well-educated young women. We couldn’t be happier about our choice and are very thankful to all at St. John the Baptist.

-Sarah and Aron Jarr

Sheboygan Lutheran High Winterim highlights

The speakers for this year have been exceptional.

Dr. Jim Pingel (Former Executive Director and Current Professor of Education at Concordia University Wisconsin) spoke of how God has provided us with individual experiences to share our faith in the Lord.  Each of those experiences shapes us and how we apply the Biblical teachings we have learned will allow us to witness to others.  We can all be thankful for the gifts and passions God has given us and we should use them to honor Him.

Mr. Brad Alles spoke on gender identity issues in our society.  He educated us on terminology and current statistics as He shared how the Post-Modernism is different than our Christian Worldview on topics of the Truth and the Bible.  The students watched the movie screenagers which dealt with the addiction and issues with too much technology in our lives especially students and the relationships with their families and friends.  After the movie, a Sheboygan School officer shared the dangers of the internet for students.  He addressed some concerns with the Facebook app and how the internet is not controlled by any single entity.

Dr. Darlene Mech came and spoke about mental health issues that we face including depression and how teenagers have a higher risk based on external and developmental factors.

Lutheran High Starts Off New Year With Winterim!

What does Winterim look like at Sheboygan Lutheran High School?

It is a one week opportunity for our staff to share some of their passions, the students to learn a unique topic and get to know their teachers and classmates in an all-day collaborative setting.  Students enjoyed courses such as Problem solving, Leadership Lessons in Board games, The Creator's Chemistry, Invention Technology, Workout Extravaganza, and Wilderness Survival.

SHEBOYGAN COUNTY CHRISTIAN HIGH STARTS OFF THE YEAR WITH DISCOVERY TERM!

Mission Statement

The mission of Oostburg Christian School is to partner with the home and the church in providing a distinctly Christian education in which students learn about God, His Word, and His world in order to develop a heart that is prepared for a lifetime of service to Jesus Christ.

Oostburg Christian School will establish relationships and discourse between our school, the home and the church to prepare children as they grow in their knowledge of God and his world.

Oostburg Christian is enrolling now for the 2017-18 school year.  We offer a 3K-8th grade program with students from all over Sheboygan County.

OUR SCHOOL OF THE WEEK! SHEBOYGAN COUNTY CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL CAMPUS

Our SCCS high school campus has many great opportunities to prepare students for college and career readiness.  In addition to core academic classes for college readiness, we offer a variety of electives including art, music, industrial arts, and computer science, among others.  Our Bible portfolio program keeps our students accountable in incorporating Biblical worldview into every subject and incorporating service into their lifestyle.  Extra-curricular and Co-curricular opportunities include soccer, volleyball, basketball, football, baseball, golf, forensics, and drama.  In addition, we have a variety of clubs, such as Service Club, Book Club, Chapel Team, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  Our mid-year Discovery Term offerings allow students to explore a variety of subjects and service opportunities, including a trip to 7 Bridges in Atlanta, Georgia.  We are working hard at preparing our students to impact the world!

In addition to offerings, we believe our school climate stands out among others.  When families tour the SCCS campus and randomly ask students to share about their experience at our school, they consistently share two things.  First, they love the smaller climate where all students feel like they are a part of a big family.  Freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors alike spend time together; students respect each other and enjoy being together, no matter the grade.  Second, students feel that teachers are approachable and easily accessible to work with them when they need help.  Students feel supported by their teachers.  School feels good to our students.

OUR SCHOOL OF THE WEEK! ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN PLYMOUTH

On February 17, 2017, St. John Lutheran School conducted our annual “Pizza Fundraiser.” Members of our school and our congregation get together annually to make over 4,500 ready to bake pizzas. The proceeds from the sale benefit special projects in our school. This year’s proceeds will go towards putting new flooring in all our classrooms. It’s one of the many ways that our school community pulls together to make us stronger.
